Music & Poetry
The Jemal Nebez Foundation is pleased to organize a series of events in various fields.
On January 9, we'll start a new series with the poet, artist, and teacher Akram Khamosh, a formative figure of the Kurdish literature and art generation of the 1970s. Khamosh presents some of his poems from his book "Zryani Tajal and the Last Blow of Memendi" and sings traditional Kurdish songs to accompany them – a unique experience.
On January 9, we invited the Kurdish poet and artist Akram Xamush share with us his literary art and music. He recited several poems from his newly published divan and then presented a numberr of hymns and songs. We thank Xamush for his contribution, which is also valuable from a historical perspective. Xamush introduced his performances that evening with special reference to the current situation in Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) and Rojava (Western Kurdistan).
Special thanks also go to the two artists Xoshewi and Kawe (from Rojava), who spontaneously enriched the evening with their music. At the end of the event. Akram Xamush was honored with a symbolic gesture for his role and contribution in the presence of numerous participants.
